The Stories Behind Exeter's Historic Buildings

Exeter, CA – The Center for Art, Culture, and History—Exeter (CACHE) will host a new local history talk by board member Dwight Miller from the quarterly series CACHE Chats: Tales of Exeter and Beyond. Dwight’s discussion is scheduled for Monday, August 17, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in the upstairs conference room, and the topic is “If These Walls Could Talk: The Stories Behind Exeter’s Historic Buildings.” Local storyteller Dwight Miller will explore the remarkable history of the landmark building at 123 North E Street. Constructed in 1912, the building has served many purposes over the past century and has been home to a fascinating cast of businesses, organizations, and individuals. Through historic photographs, newspaper accounts, and personal stories, Miller will trace the building's evolution while placing it within the broader history of Exeter. Attendees will also learn about the extensive restoration completed by the building's current owners, who have carefully preserved its historic character while adapting it for modern use. "Every historic building has a story to tell," said Miller. "This one has witnessed more than a century of community life, and its history reflects the history of Exeter itself."
